Security
Smart people. Smart solutions.
In the financial services industry, it's not just government regulation that requires you to protect your
technology assets - the livelihood of your enterprise depends on it. No one understands that better than the Security
group within TD Ameritrade's ThinkTech IT division.
With an organization that encompasses facilities and offices across the country, as well as more than 6 million accounts, it's no small task. It requires a smart approach and some very smart people.
Yes, the tools and technologies we use are cutting edge. So is our approach to security. TD Ameritrade is a converged organization, integrating physical and informational security. As such, we protect the physical locations of our technology systems - as well as the data stored there.
Through this approach to security, we're able to take full advantage of the highly specialized backgrounds and disciplines these individuals bring to the table. This ensures the integrity of our systems and operations, while instilling confidence in our clients and partners.
Getting ahead - and staying there.
More than setting policies and procedures, the Security group is actively involved in the development and
implementation of security throughout the organization - not only for the here and now, but as part of an ongoing process.
The result is a working environment that encourages interaction with everyone and every team within the group. Collaboration and imagination are key, so is education and development. It has to be to stay ahead of an industry and its technology that are in a constant state of change.
As part of the security group, you become part of the team that's responsible for:
- Monitoring, intrusion detection and intrusion prevention.
- Developing engineering solutions that secure the environment, while still allowing the Company to leverage services that provide the Company with a strategic advantage.
- Managing vulnerability across the environment.
- Architecting security policy for the entire firm.
- Monitoring the organization for compliance to security policy.
- Actively reviewing third-party vendors to ensure they're capable of protecting our data.
